Anime 101 blog

wow, i actually remembered my password to get into my blog!!! It's been too damn long since i've actually posted something on here. I think i might make this a daily thing. Every morning, come up and post a little something, see how things are going...just down my notes for the day for the world. or maybe i'll just be too damn lazy and post every couple months, like i have been here recently. maybe i'll start working on my webcomic again. I know a couple people around here that would love it if i started working on it again. And I think it's about damn time I starting doing that again.

Then again, I've been watching way too much anime....oh wait, how can a person EVER watch too much anime...I don't even think that's possible anymore.

well, i'm off for now, gotta get back on the phones and take some tech support calls....blarg!

Ja ne, minna!

You know, I can't believe it's been almost 9 months since I've done any sort of posting on this site. Oh well, it's amazing what a change in job scenery can do. I've had 2 jobs since my last job that I was bitching about on here. The first was working for the Disney Catalog call center, taking phone orders for items from the catalog. It wasn't the best job in the world, but it was a job that paid money. My current employer is much better suited for me, from the simple standpoint that I'm doing tech support. True, I'm still dealing with people, but at least it's in a field that I don't mind doing it in. And the paychecks here are a ton better than what I've been getting before. It's honestly been a long time since I've seen paychecks this big. ;p

I forgot how much of a crackhead I can be as well. I was reading through some of my old posts, and they cracked my ass up. I had completely forgotten about that Tolkien spoof dealing with XP. I'm gonna have to print it out here at work and stick it up on my cube somewhere. I think the people around here will like it.

Well, it's time to take a break, so I think i'll go do that.

Ja ne, minna!

I've decided that maybe it's time to find a new place to work...I'm getting very, very tired of listening to all of these people bitch in my ear, just because they are too fucking stupid to understand how their credit cards work. I think that if you can't understand how something like a credit card works, you don't deserve to have it. Now I'm not saying that if you don't understand something, you shouldn't have it. I do know that a lot of people out there don't understand how everything works in their computers, yet millions of people have computers. That's not the point that I'm trying to reach here. If you can't understand the fact that, if we tell you that you have "6 months same as cash", you have 6 months to pay off the purchase, and as long as you do that, you won't have to pay for any finance charges on that amount. You'll still be charged those finance charges during the 6 month time.

~sighs~ Maybe I'm just getting burned out on all of this customer service junk. I really wish that I could get an IT job like I've been wanting. The main problem with that is that I don't have at least a bachelor's degree, so I've got to go back to school and get quite a bit more schooling. One of the main reasons that I've stayed at this job for so long is because of the fact that they will pay for me to go back to school. I guess I'm just going to have to put up with it for a while longer, so that I can get a good education and move up in the world.

Well, I'm done ranting for now.

Here's another little thing for you:

Recently one of my friends, a computer wizard, paid me a visit.
As we were talking I mentioned that I had recently installed
Windows XP on my PC. I told him how happy I was with this
operating system and showed him the Windows XP CD.

To my surprise he threw it into my microwave oven and turned it on.
Instantly I got very upset, because the CD had become precious to me,
but he said: 'Do not worry, it is unharmed.'

After a few minutes he took the CD out, gave it to me and said:
'Take a close look at it.'

To my surprise the CD was quite cold to hold and it seemed to
be heavier than before.

At first I could not see anything, but on the inner edge of the central
hole I saw an inscription, an inscription finer than anything I had ever
seen before. The inscription shone piercingly bright, and yet remote, as if out of a great depth:

'I cannot understand the fiery letters,' I said in a timid voice.

'No, but I can,' he said. 'The letters are Hex, of an ancient mode,
but the language is that of Microsoft, which I shall not utter here.
But in common English this is what it says:
"One OS to rule them all, One OS to find them,
One OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them."

'It is only two lines from a verse long known in System lore:

"Three OS's from corporate kings in their towers of glass;
Seven from valley lords where orchards used to grow;
Nine from dotcoms doomed to die;
One from the Dark Lord Gates on his dark throne
in the Land of Redmond where the Shadows lie.
One OS to rule them all, one OS to find them,
One OS to bring them all and in the darkness bind them,
In the Land of Redmond where the Shadows lie." '

(Apologies to the shade of J.R.R. Tolkien)

I found this on the net a couple days ago and just started cracking up, so I thought I would post it in my weblogs.

I know that I haven't posted on this site for about a week, but I've been a bit busy with my webcomic and getting everything running good on that, along with getting the parts scrounged together for a new computer that I'm going to be building over the next couple months. I wish that I could just go out and spend the money to get everything now, but unfortunately I just don't have the money to do that. I'll be buying things bit by bit every couple of weeks, so I can get everything put together. I've already got everything picked out...who knows, maybe the prices will have dropped a bit in the next couple of months. I can only hope, right?

also, I finally got Final Fantasy X today, so that's going to own my life for the next couple weeks. I imagine that I'll get it finished, then I'll go back and finish Final Fantasy IX...hell, I haven't even STARTED Final Fantasy VIII yet, but then again, the little bit that I have played it, I really didn't like it as I have FFIX and FFX. oh well, i'm sure i'll get around to it eventually.

Well, that's it for today, I'll update again when I feel like it!

Something I've been wanting to talk about. I watched the keynote address by Steve Jobs at Macworld yesterday, and let me say, now would be a good time to be a Mac user. I've always been more of a PC user, but after seeing the new iMac, I think I might convert. All I have to say is...WOW! Seeing the Adobe program running native on OS X was simply amazing. One thing that I've always liked about Mac OS's is the way that you can move between programs. Now if I could only scrounge up $1800 to spend on the new iMac, and I'll be set!

not much else is really going on around here. Yesterday was my 23rd birthday. I went and saw the Harry Potter movie yesterday with Cindy. And let me say, it was almost as good as the book. I felt like for the first hour to hour and a half, it was completely faithful to the book, but after that, there were a few too many changes, so that the movie wouldn't be so long. I wish the next book was out already, because I just finished the fourth book, and now I don't have anything new to read. If anyone out there knows of some good books to read, feel free to leave me a message in the guestbook to tell me about them!

Well, that's all for now, I'm outta here. I'm sure I'll post something else later!

I lost my train of thought...again...all of these people calling me....they're making me lose my mind....i need some good music to listen to.....can someone please come and help me....i feel like i'm falling away from the me before I go blind....

/me smacks himself

I've gotta stop eating so much stuff before I go to makes me feel funky in the morning. I've been wondering why I got back into the customer services field of work. I'm at the point now where I would rather be doing anything then working dealing with these friggin people. They are all complete and total assholes. I guess people figure that it's after the holidays now, so they don't have to be nice to people anymore, and they're going to take it out on the representatives that work for the company where they charged too much on their credit cards and with they didn't have to pay for it. As you can tell, I'm not very happy with my job position at the moment. At least it's been fairly slow today, so I get a little bit of a break between each of the calls. I'm actually getting some work done on my webcomic, and that's always a good thing. I'm actually getting back into drawing, which I still really really suck at, but it's alright, cause it'll get better with practice, lots and lots of practice.

well, that's it for now, I know that I'll have more later to rant about, I always seem to.

goddamn it's busy here at work today! WTF! And it's not even stores calling in, it's all customers calling from home! WTF! why can't people just leave us the fsck alone! I think it's because today is a huge billing day, a lot of customer's bills are due today, and everyone's trying to make payments in the stores, which some of our clients just don't do, and that only makes the customer's more pissed off. yea, just what I wanted, customers calling that are even more pissed than normal.

I think it's time to listen to some Linkin Park, maybe that will take my mind off of work for a little while. I might also play a little Pong, just to get away.

btw, there was snow on the ground this morning when I came out for work. It's the first snow that's actually fallen and stayed on the ground.

well, i'm done ranting for right now...i'll probably have more later!
